The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is a half-ton, full-size pickup truck, and it’s one of the most popular trucks on the market today. The truck’s popularity isn’t surprising. It has some great features that appeal to an array of drivers. We’re going to share our favorite of this truck’s features with you, and hopefully, that will help you decide whether or not this is the truck of your dreams.

1. Plenty of Powertrain Options

The Chevy Silverado 1500 has an array of engine options that you may like. The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 with 305 lb-ft of torque and 285 horsepower. There are also two V8 engines to choose from, and they both produce 383 lb-ft of torque and 355 horsepower. You should also consider the 2.7-liter turbocharged engine. That one produces 348 lb-ft of torque and 310 horsepower.

If you prefer diesel over gas, then the 3-liter inline-6 engine may be best for you. That engine has a fantastic power output of 460 lb-ft of torque and 277 horsepower.

2. You Can Tow Heavy Loads

The Chevy Silverado 1500 can haul a maximum of 13,300 pounds. You’ll achieve this by equipping your vehicle with one of the V8 engine options and 20-inch wheels. You’ll also need to select the Max Trailering Package.

The truck has a camera system that makes towing easier than ever. The camera system lets you view your truck bed, a surround-view, a hitch view, and a rear top-down view. The camera system has a zooming feature to enhance its performance. A hitch guidance system helps make your towing journey even easier, too.

3. You Have a High Payload Capacity

The Chevy Silverado 1500 long-bed models provide 89.1 cubic feet of cargo space. You can fill the space with a load of 2,280 pounds. You don’t need one of the strongest engines to achieve that payload. You only need the 2.7-liter turbocharged engine to carry that much gear.

This is an excellent capacity for a family that likes to take lots of trips with camping gear,  fishing gear, or beach gear. It will also suit a busy professional who frequently needs to transport heavy cargo loads for work.

4. Unbeatable Handling

The steering and handling quality that the Chevy Silverado 1500 offers beats the competition. Trucks of this size are often difficult to handle, and they don’t always provide a smooth ride. The Chevy Silverado exceeds expectations, and it provides one of the smoothest rides of all the trucks in its class. You’ll be comfortable, and you’ll definitely be satisfied by the braking and pedal performance.

Braking feels smooth, yet it feels delightfully firm and safe, too. The pedals are highly responsive and the truck responds to the lightest touch. You’ll love how it feels to drive in the Chevy Silverado 1500, and you’ll most certainly fall in love if you test drive one of the 4×4 models. The 4×4 models provide the best handling out of all Chevy Silverado 1500 models available.
