It also has many other functions that make it a perfect choice for anyone looking for a work truck.
Powertrain Performance
The Silverado 2500 comes with two different V-8 engine options. The standard powertrain has a 6.6-liter gas engine that provides 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with your choice of rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. You can also upgrade to the 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine that develops 445 hp and a powerful 910 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive.

When it comes to hauling cargo, the gas engine with a regular cab and long bed configuration provides the best results at 3,979 pounds. The diesel engine has a maximum payload capacity of 3,715 pounds with the same configuration.
Configurations
There are multiple configurations available so you can customize the truck depending on your specific needs. There are two bed choices. The standard bed is 82.3 inches long by 71.4 inches wide and 21.0 inches tall with 69.5 cubic feet of cargo space. The long bed has the same height and width but is 98.3 inches long with 83.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
There are also three cab options: the regular cab, the double cab, and the crew cab. The regular cab seats three, the double-cab seats six, and the crew cab seats four to five people and has the most rear space for people who regularly use the back seat.

The Work Truck and Custom trims come with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display, while LT trims and up have a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The base work truck has a two-speaker audio system, and all other models get an upgraded six-speaker system.
