If you live in Sterling, VA, you have lots of fun activities around you. One of the most fun and wholesome activities you can enjoy is taking your family out to see some sports. 1. Virginia Credit Union Stadium

On a warm summer evening, what could be better than taking the family out to see a baseball game? One of the best places to enjoy America’s national pastime is at Virginia Credit Union Stadium, just over an hour’s drive away in Fredericksburg.

A newly built stadium with 5,000 seats, Virginia Credit Union Stadium is home to the Fredericksburg Nationals, who play in the Carolina League. As the Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, the Fredericksburg Nationals offer you the chance to see future stars of the Major League. Tickets start from just a few dollars, but the team often runs different promotions and family deals, so keep a lookout on their website.

2. Segra Field

Segra Field, in Leesburg, is a new stadium built in 2019. Just 15 minutes away from Sterling, it plays host to the professional soccer team Loudoun United. They play in the USL Championship league, which runs from March through October every year.

The stadium seats 5,000 and has a great atmosphere on game days, with fans seated in bleachers on all four sides of the field. There are concession stands to enjoy here too. If soccer’s not your thing, you can also see pro rugby here, as Old Glory DC also plays home games out of Segra Field.

3. Meridian High School Stadium

Feel like watching a little high school football? If so, the Meridian High School Stadium is the place to be, located in Falls Church, around a 20-minute drive from Sterling.

This small but well-equipped stadium is home to the Meridian High Mustangs football team, a highly successful team who have enjoyed regional success in recent years.

4. George Mason Stadium

Located on the campus of George Mason University, this stadium is around a 20-minute drive from downtown Sterling. There are 5,000 seats in a large grandstand here, offering a good view of the action.

The stadium is in use throughout the year, playing host to track & field meets and soccer games for the University teams. Tickets are generally very affordable, and there is plenty of parking onsite.
