There are also plenty of recreational things to do in the park, like picnic, fish, or wander through the trails, so you’ll be able to get in some great family fun, too.

3. Claude Moore Park and Lanesville Heritage Area

Visit Claude Moore Park and Lanesville Heritage Area at 21544 Old Vestals Gap Road for phenomenal hiking and nature photography and to see some historical exhibits that depict Sterling’s fascinating past. There’s a small, on-site farm museum with arrowhead displays, a giant lake perfect for taking some serene sunset snaps, and lot of hiking paths and trails for people of all fitness levels and needs.  

These natural places merge Sterling’s historical past with jaw-dropping backdrops and natural vistas.
