Whenever you’re behind the wheel of a car, you want the ride to be comfortable and convenient, no matter m where the road takes you. With this in mind, take a look at the 2020 Chevy Impala as you think about how to make your commute better and more pleasant.

Trims

For 2020, the front-wheel-drive (FWD) Chevrolet Impala is available in two trims, LT and Premier. Both sedans come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine coupled with a Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. The engine provides plenty of power, producing 305 horsepower. For performance, both trims rely on the durability of 4-link rear suspension, MacPherson front suspension, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, electronic traction control, hill start assist, and brake assist for confident handling. The Premier also has the option of automatic emergency braking.

Exterior

The 5-seat Impala is available in multiple exterior colors. The interior colors blend well with the exterior. Body-color door handles enhance the exterior of the LT and the Premier has chrome door handles with a body-color strip as standard equipment. The Premier is equipped with a dual-outlet exhaust with bright tips, and the LT features a dual-outlet exhaust with turned-down hidden tips. The LT is fitted with 18-inch painted alloy wheels. The Premier has 19-inch aluminum wheels as standard equipment, with 20-inch aluminum wheels available as an option. Both trims come standard with automatic on/off headlamp control and outside heated power mirrors with turn signal integration.

Interior

The interior is spacious and well-planned with a layout designed for comfort, with front bucket seats with power-adjustable lumbar control for the driver and front passenger. Comfort is combined with good looks featuring seating with perforated leather. The sedan is also designed for convenience with easy readability of the dash area plus easy access to all knobs and features by the driver, manual tilt and telescoping steering column, keyless open, and keyless start. The back-seat passengers also have plenty of room to ride in comfort with 60/40 split-folding rear bench seating.

Technology

The Impala trims come standard with a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot capability, USB ports, Bluetooth, and one auxiliary 12-volt outlet. The Premier comes with a 120-volt power outlet, Chevrolet Infotainment System with navigation, and an 8-inch color touch screen. Entertainment is provided by a Bose Centerpoint surround-sound audio system and a SiriusXM radio trial subscription. A CD/MP3 player comes standard on the Premier.

Safety Features

Both the LT and Premier offer plenty of standard safety features, including front air bags and knee air bags for the front passenger and driver, seat-mounted side-impact air bags, head-curtain air bags, and 4-way adjustable head restraints for front passengers. For children’s safety, the Impala is fitted with the LATCH system (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children). A tool kit for road emergencies is standard and a first aid kit is available.
