Are you looking for a heavy-duty work truck that can handle all the towing and hauling you throw at it? If you are, you’ve probably heard of the 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500. We offer this excellent truck to our customers here at Ted Britt Chevrolet to handle the toughest jobs.

Basics About the 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500

The Silverado 3500 is a heavy-duty truck designed for work tasks like hauling, towing, and handling rough terrain. It is one of the largest work trucks in Chevy’s lineup and has something for everyone, whether you want a rugged utilitarian work truck or a more luxurious ride.

Powertrain Options

The Silverado 3500 provides drivers with two engine configurations so you can customize its work performance. The base engine is a 6.6-liter gas V-8 engine that outputs 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. You can also choose a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine that provides 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque for more heavy-duty jobs.

The diesel engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission unit, and both options come with your choice of rear- or four-wheel drive and single or double rear wheel configurations.

Payload and Towing

The payload and towing performance of the 3500 depending on which engine and rear-wheel configuration you choose. When equipped with the diesel engine and dual rear wheel configuration, the 3500 can tow up to 20,000 pounds with a standard hitch and 36,000 pounds with a gooseneck. The gas engine can haul up to 7,442 pounds while the diesel engine can haul 6,523 pounds.

Safety

Safety is always first when working, and the Silverado 3500 demonstrates Chevy’s commitment to keeping you safe as you drive. The base WT trim comes equipped with the Safety package, which provides rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring. You can also upgrade to the Safety Confidence package, which adds on front automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning.

The higher LTZ Premium and High Country Deluxe packages offer even more options, with all the features of the Safety and Safety Confidence packages plus lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams.

Technology

The base WT model of the 3500 comes standard with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility, a 3.5-inch gauge cluster display, and a six-speaker audio system. The LT models and higher come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and the LTZ and High Country trims have a head-up display, built-in navigation, a seven-speaker premium audio system, and your choice of a 4.2-inch or larger 8.0-inch gauge cluster display.
